Personal Framework & Neuro-Phenomenology

The Constructed Mind:
Architecture of a Self-Built OS

A personal account of navigating Visual Snow Syndrome, sensory hyperexcitability, and severe stress—shared openly as an adaptable, tuneable framework.

✦ Lived Experience & Practical Tools

"This framework isn't a promise of a cure, nor does it aim to assign diagnostic labels. It is simply what I managed to assemble to handle severe sensory noise and stress so I could move on with my life. I am sharing it as a channel to express what worked for me—hoping somebody else might use pieces of it to help themselves."

From Deficit to Tuneable Instrument

Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS), tinnitus, and chronic sensory hyperexcitability stem from a signal-to-noise gating dysfunction in the thalamus. The brain runs with the "gain" turned too high, transmitting raw sensory noise into conscious perception.

Instead of treating this as a "broken brain," The Constructed Mind approaches it as a high-resolution instrument whose signal has outrun its filtering. Under sustained stress, it encourages building an Observer State that actively regulates autonomic tone and reduces threat-arousal.

Core Realizations

01
Decouple Noise from Panic:

The visual static and ringing are real, but the emotional panic is a separate physiological reaction that can be calmed.

02
Build the Observer Self:

Shift perspective from being trapped inside the sensory noise to watching it from a calm, grounded distance.

03
Autonomic Grounding:

Lower sympathetic arousal to gradually reduce the "gain" on sensory hyperexcitability.

The 6 Components of the Constructed Mind

1. Observer Self

Stable meta-awareness. Witnessing sensory noise, tinnitus, and emotions without cognitive fusion or limbic panic.

2. Inner Palace

Spatial organization of psychological states into navigable, structured inner rooms using dyslexic spatial strengths.

3. Sensory Matrix

Hyperattentive environmental processing redirected from anxiety-panic to conscious safety and pattern recognition.

4. Empathic Resonance

Processing interpersonal emotional states as interoceptive data without absorbing or collapsing under them.

5. Armor & Door

Controllable boundary permeability. Actively tuning the gain of incoming social and environmental stimuli.

6. Energetic Body

Dynamic somatic self-model representing real-time autonomic nervous system tone and prefrontal regulation.
